Following on as a natural progression by GENERALMUSIC, armed with the latest in technology and sound preproduction, we saw the UK launch in 1993 of the new Jewel Home Organs series. These include four GEM models Sapphire, Pearl, Topaz and Garnet.
The GEM Sapphire, which was the top range model, features two 44 note dynamic (touch response), keyboards to provide both warm flute sounds coupled with warm and mellow tones of the tenor sax, or vigorous notes of the brass section, as in the GEM WS Series. A disk drive is also included to allow you to store styles, sequences and registrations.
Upgrades: The Operating System (Firmware), is stored in EPROM (erasable programmable read-only memory). Various releases were made and can updated to the latest (at the time). The EPROM releases can be found in GEM & LEM EPROM Information and all EPROM BIN files can be found in the GEMClub Members Downloads area.
Disks: A large range of GEM and GEMClub members disks can be found in the GEMClub Members Downloads area.
